Stay safe everyone in the path of the snowstorm!

...SNOW STORM POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND...

.A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL AFFECT THE NORTHERN PLAINS THIS
WEEKEND. WIDESPREAD RAIN WILL DEVELOP ON SATURDAY AND AS
TEMPERATURES COOL ON SATURDAY NIGHT THE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE
TO SNOW OVER NORTHEASTERN WYOMING AND FAR WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA.
THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY MORNING. HEAVY SNOW IS
POSSIBLE...WITH SNOW TOTALS OF 6 INCHES OR MORE POSSIBLE ON THE
PLAINS AND A FOOT OR MORE OF SNOW POSSIBLE OVER PARTS OF THE
BLACK HILLS...THE EASTERN FOOTHILLS AND ON THE PLAINS EXTENDING
NORTHEASTWARD FROM THE BLACK HILLS.

REMEMBER...SIGNIFICANT CHANGES TO THE FORECAST MAY BE NEEDED AS
THE STORM SYSTEM APPROACHES AND THE FINE DETAILS COME MORE INTO
FOCUS...SO STAY TUNED FOR LATER FORECAST UPDATES.

...WINTER STORM WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH
SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING
THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

* TIMING...WIDESPREAD RAIN WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA SATURDAY
MORNING...WITH RAIN CHANGING OVER TO SNOW SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

* MAIN HAZARD...6 TO 12 INCHES...OR MORE...OF HEAVY WET SNOW WILL
BE POSSIBLE.

* IMPACTS...RAIN CHANGING TO SNOW AND FALLING TEMPERATURES MAY
LEAVE CALVES AND LAMBS VULNERABLE TO HYPOTHERMIA.

* ADDITIONAL IMPACTS...TRAVEL MAY BECOME HAZARDOUS FROM HEAVY
SNOW AND LOW VISIBILITY. THE HEAVY SNOW ALSO COULD DOWN TREE
BRANCHES WHICH COULD AFFECT POWER LINES.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS HEAVY SNOW...STRONG WINDS...FREEZING
PRECIPITATION...AND COLD TEMPERATURES ARE POSSIBLE. MONITOR NOAA
WEATHER RADIO...LOCAL RADIO OR TELEVISION...OR THE INTERNET FOR
UPDATES ON THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS STORM. TAKE TIME TO
PREPARE FOR SEVERE WINTER CONDITIONS BEFORE THE STORM DEVELOPS.

I'll trade you one snow storm for several tornados and baseball size hail. That's the forecast for here tomorrow. Supposed to be really bad.

Sorry to hear that, DejaVu. Don't need that, for sure. With this snow storm will come moisture.
One of my favorite things....melting snow....means the storm is over and the sun is out warming
things up.

Stay safe.

Unless you have Herefords.

Oh yeah. That. :?

Its hard to tell, but I would guess that we got a solid foot of snow here the first go round and then it calmed down and then the snow started again last evening and we got at least another 3 or so inches over night. It is leaving fast though, water is running everywhere and hard. It has been a long time since we had a melt like this with water moving like it is. Should really fill up some water holes. Our corrals are really ugly and we are AI'ing heifers in it. Lots of slop, but that means lots of grass too!!!
