Minimum Wage

Soapweed is right again. If raising the minimum wage has no ill effect, then let's mandate prosperity for all of ys with a a424/hr minimum wage. Every invrease in minimum wage displaces employment, and its the least able to find another job that are excluded. Furthermore, an arbitrily increased minimum wage will push jobs overseas.

Minimum wage is an apprentice wage, but employees proven fit for industry never work for minimum wage. So let's let the market decide and stay the hell out of it with politics. The economics are simple.

A minimum wage has the same significance as a school kid getting a guaranteed "C" on their report card, even if they have not worked hard enough to have earned it.

A minimum wage is an artificial factor in an equation that screws up basic supply and demand. It throws the natural workings of the free enterprise system completely out of whack. It could also be likened to rules and regulations that would prevent packer ownership of cattle, or prevent sale barns from owning cattle, or prevent bankers from owning cattle. Let nature take its course. Free enterprise works well if we let it. All government should do is prevent crime, and keep their nose out of otherwise smooth running commerce. It is a "crime" that our government doesn't police the "crime" of all the illegal aliens entering our country. That is something they could actually enforce and eliminate and do some good. Most of their meddling, including messing with the minimum wage, just clogs the arteries of our American way of life.
