Just got one of those extension newsletters in the mail yesterday-seems like one of the alfalfa pelleting plants is studying using alfalfa pellets as fertilizer for sale to organic producers. Seems like kind of an assbackwards way of doing things to me-I think the grain guy would be alot better growing the alfalfa or clover in his crop rotation. Clover will grow on a dry rock so anybody can grow it. I can't imagine how harvesting the alfalfa-pelleting it-then transporting it and spreading it back on land could work.
