Should we give this place a funeral?

Well that photo was taken quite a few years ago. 😉 Clavinova did take good care of me. A couple times he plowed both hind feet in the face of a cow charging me while I was tagging her calf. He would quietly and patiently walk right into the narrow alleyway and stalls in the barn dragging the fresh calf with mama right behind. To name a few examples.

I suspect I fall under the category of "Old timer. Webster's definition of "Old Timer" is : something that is old-fashioned : antique.
I prefer that label any day over "has been" or "bag a wind".

I am a bit of an outsider here. But share a very similar background with some of you. There is a lot of knowledge here and
that knowledge is from hands on experience, been there done that (may or may not choose to do it again). :)

Older Whiskey as far as "rigor mortise", the trick is to keep moving.

I think I mentioned before I enjoy looking at the older posts, the pictures and the content. And I hope I don't offend anyone by
bringing some of those older post forward.

Oh, Faster Horse I think I forgot to mention, Itty Bitty never did calve last fall. Guess she decided to take a year off. But she calved
with the other cows this year. Beefy little red heifer. She went into the winter quite plump and is coming out of the winter looking
good.

I have had the pleasure of listening to Darrell life twice. He is the real deal. When he did his one eyed Swede at Jordan Valley last spring the McKenzie kids in the row in front of us were literally rolling on the floor laughing.

Click on his bio and pictures. Once there look at the Utubes. Phil's Eye Ache is the poem about the one eyed Swede.

When my computer went down last September I lost facebook and as a result lost contact with Darrell. I am going to have to reach out to him.

He would like that. However, he abandoned us for FB, so let him have it. 🤣
He's really been busy, he's in demand as a Cowboy Poet now. (But he is deserving of fame.)

Thanks for pointing out to go to the profile, webfoot. I might have missed doing that and it was
well worth the time!!!

The Abandonment

It's been on all our minds, so I've been meanin
To address the abandonment of the one called Leanin
From Ranchers he was drawn by stage bright lights
Reciting his poetry, now soaring at heights

Heights once seemingly insurmountable
Now opportunity so rewarding and bountiful
That time for old friends, maybe a foe
Can't be found even over a virtual cup of Joe

No more sharing the gift of his verse
About his snake phobia, his curse
His entertaining stories he took
To the stage, YouTube or Facebook

So you chose which of these mighty three
To attend, watch, or read for a Leanin hehe

It is kind of funny. The first time I watched him preform must have been the fall of '23. He got invited to do a little poetry in Elko. Not the big show just a Saturday evening deal. I am sure it was a audition for the big show. I would say he was nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof except cats in that situation are plum calm compared to him. The second time I saw him was last spring at Jordan Valley. He was calm as a cucumber. Between the two he had done enough shows to get over his earlier jitters.
