Joe Goggins Sells Bulls in Russia

I've bought lots of bull from Don Raffin, Lynn Weishar and John Blacklock and all are good auctioneers like to think I was crafty enough they didn't cost my customers too much. Old Pat Goggins bless his black heart was an entertaining old guy to listen too-he came out with some funny stuff. Roy rutledge isn't a great auctioneer but his block comments aren't really politically correct but they are funny. They've all got a bit of bandito in them i suppose.

i'd put Seth ahead of Lynn any day of the week and twice on Sunday. i do like Odden, but haven't heard him for years. but if i was going to a bull sale and could choose the auctioneer, i would go with Goggins first, then Seth or Ty, after that it wouldn't matter much.

I agree Justin. Lynn is too fast for me. I can understand Seth.

I've never heard any of the others personally.

I never had any trouble with Goggins. One thing I do in bidding is let the fast and furious fellers get done. Then you might not even have to get involved. But if you do you can control the pace better and see if you are bidding against the blue sky or a real perso. When there are bids coming fast and furious it's just better to sit back and relax a bit.


The other auctioneer I always enjoyed listening to was a guy down in Kansas...Stanley Stout. I think he was from someplace around Manhattan....maybe jigs knows. He died a few years ago

Joe Goggins gets my vote for being #1. I think he sound just like an auctioneer should. He seems to be able to get my adrenaline flowing and my arm going. If I ever decide to have a sale I'd like to get him on my side. I'm probably too small of potatoes.

Your crop may not be as big as some others Ned but I don't think you have as many cull spuds as others either. :wink:

Do you think he was auctioning in Russian jumping the bids by Rubles? :lol: :lol:

Listern to the bid increments from them. Goggins was the first one that jumps his increments at times. I understand they do that on the presold bulls but on some of the others I have a problems with. Example a $250 bid increment becomes a $750 increment then back toa a 250 them to a 500 on the same lot then back to 250 increment. I understand the jumping of $1000 to 2500 between bids on the presold bulls but in the middle of the sale I have a problem with that on the 250 to 750 them back to 500 bids and back up to 250 bids. It easier to understand on line rather than at a live auction where the ring man comissions is added on to the live bidding.
Next sale listem for that bid increment jumps. I noticed it on Goggins auctions first.
When the live bidding starts the increments should be the same between bids 260 to 500 to 750 and so on not 1000 to 1250 to 1750 to 2500 to 3250 to 3500 again. Auction schools teach the auctioneer to be fair to each bidder with the same increments.
