Jinglebob's colts

Thanks. It's always nice when someone else likes what you like.
I've had a number of horses with some of that breeding & ain't never been sorry.
They tell me, that when these guys saddle these horses that have been turned out all winter and ride away from the pens, that there ain't a one of them horses that blows up or bucks. Thats pretty good, for some rough ol' ranch ponies.
Case in point
think I'm going to drive over and see some of his horses on Sunday, on my way home. 'Course goin' that way, it's a long ways home, but shoot, whats a few miles, to get to look at some horses!
Be real interested in hearing what he's got.

If you got the money honey, I got the time.

How soon are you wanting this deal done?

Probably, you better come and pick what it is you want.

As for learning about horses, the only way I know, is kind of like playing poker. You can only watch and learn so much. Then you just got to take a seat and get some first hand experience.

Come on out and try out a couple horses and saddles and then we can deal. :D

LOL.. Honey? lol... As far as me and getting a horse, I am a ways away, need to sell my calves and my culls before I have any money to spend, lol. Calves don't ship until November...

Doing some riding every week, getting a lot more comfortable but need to do more really to "advance" the skill set if you know what I mean.. Best way to do that is to have a horse on the place as it saves from the 30 minute drive in and 30 minute drive back just for an hour or so of riding..

I should have never refered to you as honey, but I just couldn't resist the old title of a song.

Sounds to me like you need a vacation where you can check out saddles and horses. Be a great way to improve your skills.

If you ain't never rode before, I sure got a few that have never been ridden before. You can both learn, together!

Just a joke about the unridden one!

I would never do that to anyone. Matter of fact, I'm pretty picky about who rides any of my horses and only when they've proven to me that they have enough skill and knowledge, before I'll turn them loose. Might be why I don't sell many! :o  My standards are just too high.

Got back from looking at the horses at the fellers ranch today. pretty impressive when you pull in and he's got 7 studs and their mare band in and you can walk around and look at the colts while they are still on the mothers.

Nice horses and he sent up the yearlings. I don't think they are going to be too much of a problem, getting halterbroke and gentle. :)

He even convinced me to buy a blue roan colt. He's a little young and his mother is getting old, so he needed a new home and groceries. I think he'll be alright. :)

Lol... There is a horse were I ride called bucksomthing (Stable) Bob but one of the workers name is bob so they have taken to calling him bucky.. He is a grey and white paint and lives up to his name in more way than one, lol.... For some reason they won't let me try him out   . Oh well, I will survive I guess.

Vacation? Wife just informed me that I have to head east before I head west. Have a friend whose husband is getting back from Iraq soon (Already in Kuwait) and another who is back from from a tour in Iraq after doing one in Afgahnistan after doing one in Kosovo who are both down at Ft . Bragg and I am told we are going thataway sometime in November... Of course, maybe the one family will be back in Montana so can swing a trip west instead. Haven't seen these guys for 6+ years however so I best see them somehow.

Wifes decided where the vacations gonn'a be, huh? Well you could try to change her mind, but I'll bet you been married long enough to know that that is just probably a waste of time.

Whenever it works to come visit, and if you'd like to check out saddles or horses, just give me a holler. If the bank don't kick me off, I'll still be hangin' around here.

My bank lovs me about 20 days a year and than wonders when the cash will run out, lol... Watching those calves go down the street and than getting the check there is the feeling of rich for a day. Than you start budgeting the next 12 months and start thinking a bunch of things... At least I have my health being one of those, lol.

Oh, I have been putting off visiting her friend for way to long so and we haven't really gone on many vacations ever so I best be taking some time somewhere. Probably be good for me to get away from here everyonce in a while but until recently that was impossible. I was hoping to vist them out west as I would rather drive to the mountains than to the shore but I'll listen to my Mrs. this time, probably the wise thing to do.

I mentioned South Dakota to her and she told me only if a neighbor had some Targhee sheep I could load on the trailer for the ride home. always trying to get me to haul sheep for her somewhere...

Nice looking colts JB,only thing nicer would be added colour from say a Paint stud

Also if cutebabymaker is the ma ma of your grandboy, don't you think the least you owe her is a colt

Jinglebob - I have to agree with Mrs Greg  Pick of the pen for your grandson's Mom I say! As for the grandson .... you buy a paint baby from Mrs Greg now and it'll be a nice horse for when he's ready to hit the trail with Gramdpa.
Nice try S.S.A P,we don't anywhere near raise the Paints you do,post your website and let all see your horses...those are beauties. :)

Thanks Mrs.Greg - I don't have the new sale pages up but this is us:
http://www.PaintHorses.ca

Jinglebob - nothing wrong with being picky about who rides your horses. I also encourage any beginner rider to hang onto the horn - no matter what kind of horse they're on - beats them hanging on a horse's mouth and using the reins for balance. Does this fella (that you went and seen his stock) have a web site by chance? I like looking - LOL

IL Rancher - be picky when you purchase and you'll enjoy the horse and what you want him for.... enjoy what you have for weekly rides in the meantime.... and  Jinglebob will be waiting to set you up with tack and a mount

Oh ... jinglebob, just think of the bonding if you guided cutebabymaker along on feeding and riding .... so you could 'give her' one 8)

NOT THAT I KNOW OF. CURTIS/PEGGY COOMES QUARTER HORSES, IF THERE IS ONE.

NOPE, I LOVE HER WAAAAYYYY TO MUCH TO "GIVE" HER ANYTHING. IF YOU DON'T EARN IT, YOU DON'T APPRECIATE IT.

IF SHE WAS LIVIN' HERE ON THE RANCH OR REAl close, I'd sure make her a whale of a deal anyway. And that nice little dun she likes(which is my favortie horse right now) she is welcome to ride, whenever she comes out. Trouble is, she just don't come out often enought as gas is high and her husband don't make that much money and she works on the weekends, when he don't, so he can watch their son, who of course, is my grandson. Someday, things will change. And then she will have her very own horse.

You can't be TOO picky JB, or you'd never have let me ride one!  It sure was a fun ride and those gangly colts are cute.

Yup, I am picky.

I sure wouldn't have just saddled him up and turned you loose and never watched.

I did get you up on him and after just a short time, I could see that you wasn't going to hurt or ruin him and I dang sure knew he wasn't going to hurt you.

'Course, I kind of forgot that you might hurt yourself, by falling off a plumb gentle horse!

I like the dark one with the blaze he's gorgeous.

Thanks. I like him the best too.

We worked with them a little. he's got a lot of fire, like his dad,, but when he catches on, it's there to stay.

The bay colt with just a tiny bit of white is pretty snorty too, but he's coming along real nice.

There is a blue roan in there with them now, who wasn't in the pix. He's pretty tame and the bay filly has been handled and is a sweety. :-)
