I heard that in church this morning. The wind was howling when we went through Richland late yesterday. At the time all I thought was it could push our fire east but the Snake River is there to stop it. The one on the Idaho side of the river ran right down to Weiser in a hurry.
 
Whoever did the research for that article, did not do a good job. There were other comments by readers stating the info was lacking in accuracy.

I just read an article about some people caught in the Tarter fire on the Idaho side of the river. The winds Saturday evening and night blew that fire up. It burned 80,000 acres that night. They had loaded up most of their critters and opened gates for the others to escape. First rig made it out, Second rig got pinned in by the fire. So they had no escape. Went back to the house and fought the fire. They must have called for help. Because the police told them that rescue crews couldn't get to them. So to fight the fire the best they could. They survived as did all their critters including the ones which they turned loose.
