Dear sweet Lily girl, you are dealing with a real deal rancher and kind waves of gratitude never fixed anything, electronic or otherwise on a ranch. Tough talk and decisive direct action is what gets thing fixed on ranches.

I am not suggesting dragging his computer behind his 4 wheeler, soaking it in the river, stomping it in deep manure, or hot iron branding it, but calling it sweet names and humming mantras over it just prolongs the agony of defeat.

I have the same exact problem, this newer laptop has Windows 11 and won't recognize my cameras card or a direct USB patch. I even bought a convertor device that was a total waste of money. Every time I get an update or upgrade, things get worse.

Computers are the devils abode and I don't sweet talk or make deals with the devil. :devilish:🔨

Older Whiskey - oh I can get down and dirty if necessary in a situation that is "chaffing my hide". That type of response is definitely needed sometimes.

The only sweet talking done around here is toward the wife. And she will testify that it is too far between those incidences. I might talk nice to the dog once in a while and she is real happy to get any positive comments.

These are pictures from past years brandings. The first 2 picture is from last year at my place in '21. The third one is some horses getting a break while others are busy roping. And then a stretched out calf who is getting his mind changed. Both of those pictures are from a neighbors branding. The last picture is from my place last year. The wife takes pictures at our place as I am too busy. At others I generally have the camera in my pocket and remember it is there after we are done.

I love the horses. They are working horses. The buckskin in the first pictures looks so very reliable.
 
That buckskin is the neighbor's go to horse. I believe that is him on the far end of the line tied to the fence. The yellow horse tied to the fence is a real good horse. That is not the yellow horse in the 4th picture who is also the real deal. The smaller horse who is first in line is a great rope horse. I don't recognize the others but they were all good horses that day. The paint in the last picture needs a lot of wet saddle blankets. I came close to asking her to take him out of the pen and go ride in the hills. The man on the head end of that calf is a hand and he always rides good horses.

I don't know why some people take a horse that isn't broke in the pen to rope calves. Lots of wrecks
are possible when that happens.
