    see Waggoner

I might be wrong but I think alot of his money was from building stores and leasing them to Walmart.

    see Waggoner

Stan Kroenke is the same one that also owns Douglas Lake Ranch, Quilchena, Alkali Lake, Circle S and just lately Cotton Ranch and Deer Park ranch in B.C. I don't know about anyone else but I'm not comfortable with Walmart money buying all the best country. Except for Douglas Lake, until...

    News from Gcreek

It's great news that you are on the upswing! It is also very good that you have such capable help through haying. I'm trying to imagine you resting while everyone else is working. I hope you can manage it. Here's wishing you a speedy and full recovery!

    Foals

I think that you are getting a lot of good advice from people. I would like to add that there is quite a time commitment as well. At a couple of times a week it could take years to get them really broke, taking into account your inexperience. If you buy something broke now you can just get on...

    Favorite Horses

I also like the looks of Yellowstone, and think that if there were more of that type of horse around there might be less people riding quads. I know we have a mare that is an awesome cowhorse but if I had to ride her over a half mile a truck and trailer would cross my mind. Alot of times there...

    Doctoring a few

Enjoyed your video and have a couple of questions now. Did you roll the cow over so she wasn't laying on your rope, binding it up? Also did we miss a certain amount of her wearing herself out on the end of your rope before the video started? It seems that when I rope a cow or yearling there...

    Doctoring a few

FlyingS, you sound as if you are pretty slick doctoring! I would love to see a video of you laying one down. In my experience sometimes it goes easy and then I think I'm pretty smart and then the next one is kind of tough and I don't feel quite so good. Anyway I would love to see what you do...

i would like ta fine me a mule

It seems to me that some people just have to try mules and get them out of their system. I've seen it happen to others and it even happened to me. I think that a lifelong mule project like has happened to Soapweed is unusual! I'm not sure if I should admire him or feel sorry for him :-)

You got it! and Bob too.I guess this means that I probably know you but I'm baffled. How about a clue?

    Branding Etiquette

Alot of the brandings I've been at have been larger ranches that mostly just used their own crew. At one place I wrestled calves for four springs with the same partner. It was pretty good because we really got to know the job well. The same two older guys roped all the calves and the same...

Looking for Shaggy cow dog, or Idaho shag.

They sound interesting and I'd like to see them work. I can't imagine an airdale getting his head down low enough to heel a cow so they might be more of a heading dog?

I am not familiar with Idaho Shags. Are they similar to Australian Shepherds ?

    Another Member Gone.

I'm sorry to hear of Rob's passing. I remember him as a kind and personable fellow that I enjoyed visiting.

    Quite a day...........

As I recall Dave could never refuse a "good deal" and unfortunately one time it rubbed of on me just sitting next to him at a sale. At least I blame him! The good thing is he is having this trouble while he is still fresh. Good Luck with the rest of calving!

    Spayed hfrs

The last few years I've been buying disadvantaged calves in the fall and then running them on grass the next summer and they generally look alot better come sale time but they are always a little smaller than what people want for replacement heifers and definitely not top quality. Spaying would...

    Spayed heifers

I hear that Kelly Lightfoot and Shawn Davidson from Assiniboia Vet Clinic spay heifers either the side or the back. I don't know if they use the Meager Flute or not. You probably know about them as it is sort of in your neck of the woods. It is starting to look like there won't be enough...

    Surprised to find this online

I just looked him up on the AQHA site and it shows that he is still owned by John Richeson that you sold him to and he's sired 5 foals, the latest in 2005. Of course sometimes it's not kept up to date as far as ownership if he was sold and not transferred or if he is deceased. It looks like he...

    Spayed heifers

We have about 75 but there could be about 400 in the vicinity.

    Spayed heifers

In the mid 70's I worked for a guy who got about 500 done every year.He used two chutes and the vet from Wms Lake came out. It took two days and I think he charged $2.00 a head. I don't think there was any loss and only a couple of infections. This was of course by flank incision. It sounds...
