    Moving a bull

Kind of where we are at, last week was wet and we could have done it really easy. Now we're full steam on hay.

    Moving a bull

We've hit peak busy season at the moment and trying to get a bull from Gordon, NE to either Belgrade, NE or North Dakota this week. Anybody have ideas of local haulers?

    Soapweed ????

We've had about everything under the sun on our place at one point or another. Grandpa started the beef herd in the 70's with F1 Hereford/Holstein cows. Bred those back hereford and built a herd with them. Used a few angus bulls, quite a few fleckvieh bulls and eventually got to having about...

    Bud box question

They are like magic on calves, it's unreal how well small calves up to bred heifers work in ours. The cows get better after they've done it at time or two, the old cows are the biggest pain as they will not go under the "no-back" in the alleyway.

    Circle D vs: Titan

Friend of mine from Salina area has one, they come from the factory with a chain for the end gate because even they know their latches suck.

Bull elk on our meadow, November 3, 2015

Have heard several people think the wolves are pushing them out to find new territory to run.

Bull elk on our meadow, November 3, 2015

Had a decent sized one move through our area this fall supposedly. I would believe it as we aren't that far from Fort Riley and they have a decent herd down there.

    K-State Halftime Show

I had one playing HS ball as well, took a couple months to get back right, straightened my neck out and had to go to the chiropractor basically every day for a month to get it back to normal. Concussions are nothing to mess with, that is for sure.

He was the fifth stringer, how many quality qbs do most teams have that can step in and lead scoring drives?

    Travalong VS Titan

We run titan livestock trailers. I'm not a big fan of the latch system on the travalongs.

    calf prices

Friend of mine bough 50 head of 500# heifers for 2.14 yesterday. Would seem like a buying opportunity in here somewhere.

    K-State Halftime Show

Well I apologize on behalf of the vast majority of "tater" fans for the both of yours poor experiences. I would like to think that there are undesirables in every fan base and that the actions of a few morons are seen for what they are.

    K-State Halftime Show

I think you're being a tad spiteful towards the band members. If you look at the overhead picture there are 3-5 kids that are not in the exact correct spot, it would have taken some significant practice for them to pull that off in a coordinated effort. Le'ts see this for what it is, an...

    K-State Halftime Show

The whole thing is pretty blown out of proportion. At first I thought it was pretty funny, when you see the whole thing it's pretty obvious it wasnt' intentional. Just sad that it has gone to the reaches that it has with the self punishments and all the apologies. Why on earth would the band...

Ideas on long term handover of operation

Not only do I have siblings but my father before me has siblings. The land is going to be split there is no avoiding that. We don't all get along as a family so some of it will be lost out of the operation. Our place is a complete nightmare when it comes to succession because nobody knows for...

Ideas on long term handover of operation

I have full time off farm employment so living expenses. I appreciate all the insight. I like the LLC route personally but I believe the % of the calf crop is more along the lines of what the grandparents are thinking. I do plan on sitting them down in front of a tax attorney to make sure...

Ideas on long term handover of operation

Trying to find some ideas on how to work a family hand over of an operation. Grandparents are owners of the cattle and equipment today, they own about half the ground and rent the other half from my father. We are trying to come up with a way of passing ownership of the cowherd to me over...

    portable corrals

Rawhide and Linn P&P were in business together and then I"m not exactly sure what happened but they split ways. W&W was building a similar model as well. We have Linn P&P everything, and will continue to use them for everything since their close. Having been around a Wilson and an OK...
