New pup

Got us a new pup last week and he's settled in like a boss. Not likely going to be a real big dog but he sure shows a lot of heart and ability. Well, as much ability as a dog can show while herding 7 or 8 cats...

That's a good strong looking pup, nice he's showing herding instinct so young.

I had to put my oldest BC down last week, he was 12 and that's about 3 times the age most BC that work cows get.

Think I am going to wait awhile before getting another one as I still have 2 cow dogs,
Is your pup papered? Working parents?

Called him Toby. Little guy with lots of heart. He's just a real soldier, no quit in him, plows through the 1 1/2' tall grass/alfalfa right behind me when I move the hotwire ahead for the cows. Although this morning he got a bit overwhelmed by the tangle since it was pouring rain, whimpered a bit when we got on the tractor to head home but then chased a cat, dove into his food dish and the world was right again...

Full name is Toby Stroman, for all you Toronto Bluejays fans...
