Aren't those horses of more modern breeding, probably from domestic horses turned out on the BLM many years ago?
Since the water, fencing and much of the development was done by the families who started the ranches many years ago, why should the 'bleeding heart' people who know nothing but what they have been told by activists be the ones who influence BLM management?
Most importantly, why isn't enough of that land to constitute a viable ranch sold to ranch families who are descendants of those first ranch families?
IMO, way, WAY too much land is in federal hands, mostly becsause it was really not valuable to anyone back before better range management was developed, along with other things, such as pick-up trucks, and such allowing people to cover larger distances to manage their livestock.
Sure, there are some rare scenic sites which may deserve protection, but far too much such places have been designated monuments, etc. FAR more as a land grab for more control by Federal government agencies that is warranted. Selling it with money dedicated to stabilizing our currency and cutting debt, whether foreign, or citizen investors; holdings.
