    Where is everyone?

Nobody here matches that description, but a lot of us still remember when Tam and Connie spanked your ass in Bull Session on a regular basis. I'm sure Big Muddy remembers that, too. LOL

When a Heeler becomes a Header!

Haha...I had forgotten all about Lulu, the OP of this thread. For those of you who don't remember, that was kola. Reminder of the good old rowdy days in Political Bull.

    Back again

Good to have you back, Martin. As FH pointed out, you have been missed - every day.

    Bull sale

It's easy enough to get fed while they're gone, it's opening the gates and feeding that's tough on a man. The price of bulls is crazy. If I were to ever give more than $4k for a bull, he'd have to sign a pledge not to fight or do other stupid bull stuff. I can always pick a few keepers out of...

    Wondering about Mountain Cowgirl

Last seen September 15. Another noticeable absence.

What's the weather like at your place?

We had three frosts in a row a couple of weeks ago, which is kinda early for us, but now having some pleasant fall-like weather again. Looks to be more of the same in the seven day forecast with mostly 40's for lows and 60's for highs, with only a bit of rain in the forecast.

    Is Martin Okay?

Well, this can't be good. Martin was last seen November 4.

What's the weather like at your place?

It was a cool 59 degrees yesterday morning, and not too bad this morning with mid-60's. Mid-90's every afternoon and supposed to be back close to 100 again by the end of the 7 day forecast, so looks like we'll have one more blast of summer. Fire weather danger in the NWS forecast discussion...

    Is Martin Okay?

Yeah, that's not a good thing. I don't post a lot, but I look at his thread every day, and it's sure obvious when he's not here. I think I remember him having computer problems and missing a few days a while back, so hopefully that's all it is. Also missing FH and Mountain Cowgirl - haven't...

Need Help Identifying some Invasive Weeds in Pasture

Yes, S.S.A.P. Back in the good old days of Bull Session, she and Tam would really mix it up with the R-Calf guys like HM and Sandhusker. Good times. Miss the old days when it was really active. @Mountain Cowgirl has been a nice addition to the site, and it's really been nice to have @Peach join...

I think it would be worth a try just for the spectator view when Connie finds out the new girl is after old HM. She's always kinda claimed HM for herself, so I don't think she's gonna like that. Should be interesting to watch.

Hey, I enjoyed that immensely. No matter what you're smoking, it has really unleashed the creative artiste in you. You're clearly an asset to the site, and had you only been here in the old days, I think we could have gotten you and HAYMAKER fixed up.

Need Help Identifying some Invasive Weeds in Pasture

Thank you for admitting that. Most yankees from up north are too conceited to admit that Texas is far-superior to the other 56 states. We probably share some similar embarrassments as well, though. We have our Austin that appears to be populated with a two-legged species similar to your...

Need Help Identifying some Invasive Weeds in Pasture

Yes, from the picture you posted, that looks like a variety of sedge. I've never called it nutgrass, and never heard it called nutgrass. However, the fact that I've never heard it called nutgrass might just be because I don't go to county agent meetings and I don't normally talk to anybody about...

Need Help Identifying some Invasive Weeds in Pasture

It looks to me like some type of sedge. I can't blow the pic up well enough to see the stem, but sedges have distinctive three-sided stems - sort of triangle-shaped with sharp edges. Look at the stem and/or search for sedges to see if that's what you have. Assuming it's a sedge, spot treating...

    Vaccines

We use Vision 8 Somnus and BoviShield Gold 5 at branding. At weaning they get another Vision 8 Somnus and a BoviShield Gold One Shot, along with a pinkeye shot of some kind going into winter or spring. Cows are on BoviShield Gold VL5, but if they weren't on an MLV, I'd use a ViraShield instead...

    Starting a ranch

That's interesting, thanks for the information. Do you have markets locally where farmers or ranchers can sell live animals? Something similar to our cattle auctions or sale barns? Our auctions typically will sell all classes of cattle - calves, yearlings, breeding cows, and slaughter cows and...

    Starting a ranch

No apologies necessary, and this site certainly isn't for U.S. producers only. A general location is important so people are giving you advice that is actually useful for you and your situation. I know nothing about Borneo, or the cattle business in Borneo, or the beef business in Borneo -...
