Hooks didn't start anything.
If anything it was me cause I said I thought the bungee was a great idea, he just countered that.
Take a breath...there's lot more exciting things to fight about on this site than " to bungee or not", I promise you that!!

Hey Chocolate, I'd like it a whole better if yall had said smartass instead of dumbass........that's more my style
I really have a thing against quick fixs & shortcuts. Thats all I was tryin to say.
As far as the ruckus over "pasture bred cow ponies", you stepped in that pile all by your lonesome. Like Yancuk showed, ranch horses can have alota background, with or without the trophies. Babcock, 6666, Pitzer, Hitch, Sandhill & so on, had been breeding working ranch horses for quite some time. Some go to ranch work, some go to the show pen, but they're still ranch horses. Folks like Leanin-H, BMR, Yanuck have a need for honest pony that's there everyday. Some care about the background, some don't. Its whatever works for them.
Gettin windy here, but really wasn't lookin to get into a pissin-match, just a discussion. After 30+ years, I thought I might have alittle to offer......... (I'll take a breathe here & go back out to the barn......)
ps-Thanks guys...............

..I think somebody said "sometimes slower is faster"......they were talking about workin cattle, but it works for horses as well......
I don't train work horses on a schedule per say. Everything I got is for sale, and is priced and sold according to skill level at any given time. My time is always the same value.

So Much BS (just my Thoughts)
....this is something I've always questioned. How come they don't use tie-downs in reined cow horse or ranch horse events? Or moreover, everyday ranch work................ |
A Horse that need a "Tiedown" is a "unbroke, Unfinished" Horse
Seen many broke noses and horses that went over backwarde from broken Tiedown

| Oh, they were very happy with what the horses brought. They were the top selling horses in the 'green' catagory. She said this was the second year for that particular sale and it went well. The offering throughout the sale was truly 'Ranch Horses' and represented honestly. It is Invitational so not everyone can consign a horse, which keeps the honest folks in the sale.

| lol....you boys sure like your ranch ponies. It's funny how someone can critisize my methods, but the moment I say something about his pasture bred horses all you guys freak out.....good on you I guess for sticking together. Lord knows there are alot of likeminds with the same kinda horses on here. As far as I see, Hooks started all this BS by making is dumbass little comment on my thread. Just because you don't understand something doesn't give you the right to critisize....right? I'm sure Hooks started alot of horses and did it well enough to do it for a living for 10+ years........ |
Choclab,if you dont want your methods critisized.dont post em,cause I guarantee, they will be, its called differing opinions.
Every horse is differnt, your bungee cord practise may very well be the correct way to train horse "A"s headset to your liking, and on horse "B" would'nt be worth a damn.................good luck
PS like your pictures, keep em coming.
