Isn't that kinda young for a dog to already be bred up and waiting to have pups?

I've never bred anything of mine till it's 2 yrs AT LEAST....and mentally mature enough to handle it.

Good luck

Same as an old dog--approx. 60 days after she gets bred...

The normal and most common is for the Dam to come into heat at 6 months of age and then every 6 months there after.

Some Dams come in at 4 months and some at 12 months for their first heat.

Some every 6 months and some every 5 to 8 months. All Dams vary, so you should keep track of what your dam is doing and when.

Most Breeders Breed the Dams on 3rd heat or after 1.5 or 2 years of age when proper genetic testing is complete and the Vet gives approval that Dam is an adult and ready.

Dog gestation period - A normal pregnancy lasts 63 days.

Not tryin to step on any toes but if your going to breed I would do a lot of studying before you do it. Knowing the gestation period and proper age for first breeding is just the start.

I also wonder if this is the same dog you posted about with the hurt shoulder. I would definately wait until that is healed and/or treated before I even considered breeding her.

I agree!
There are collectors and want-to-be Breeders in all animal breeds.

A GOOD BREEDER has the GUTS/and KNOW HOW to CULL
