I am no big fan of polls but since the resident libs like them so much, this is for them.

Poll: Republicans Are Happier Than Democrats
Wed Mar 15 2006 10:14:36 ET

The Pew Research Center recently updated a question about happiness that the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago has been asking since 1972.

In every asking of the question, ROLL CALL reports, Republicans have been happier than Democrats.

Republicans tend to be better off than Democrats, and that is one explanation for the happiness gap. But when the researchers controlled for household income, Republicans at all income levels were happier than Democrats at those same income levels.

As for ideology, conservative Republicans were happier than conservative Democrats, and moderate to liberal Republicans were happier than comparable Democrats.

END
----------------------------------------
I think we all meed to give our resident libs a big group hug to make them feel better.

I wonder how big a federal grant the Pew Research Center gets to do that study....Definitely looks like something the idiots in D.C. would give a grant for Wink

Here is who Jesus says will be there.

Jhn 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
Jhn 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Jhn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jhn 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jhn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Jhn 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Jhn 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Jhn 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Jhn 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
Jhn 3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
Jhn 3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
Jhn 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you [of] heavenly things?

There is several things I can't do. I can't always love my enemy, as a matter of fact, I , when compared to the law , fail in every point. Jesus didn't come into the world be an example as you say. We already had the law telling us right from wrong which God gave man to show us his perfect standard. Jesus came into the world as a sacrifice for the sins of those that can't be good. Just as the sacrificial lamb was slain for the nation of Israel to "cover" the sins of the nation, Jesus was slain to "take away the sins of the world. " Just like the passover lambs blood had to be applied to the door post of the houses of the Jews so the death angle would "pass over" we must similiarly apply the blood of Christ . We must not only believe that Christ died, was buried, and rose again from the grave but be believing in Christ because of his death burial and resurection to take away our sins. I can't be good enough to enter Heaven but by trusting in Christ , I am acceptable as if I was perfect, like Christ was perfect. That not withstanding the beatitudes are also ment to show a Christian how to live a life here. In lots of those ways , I fail.

How about you SteveC, how well do you do at keeping the law?

It seems you have the same problem as I do. Yet from your posts I believe you think Jesus is a good man, a profit perhaps but not God. Without him being God, he couldn't be perfect or sinless therefore wouldn't be able to be a sacrifice to take away the sins of anyone.

Jam 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all.

It seems to present a problem, does it not?

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What is your remedy?

Well the Democrats I know seem to be quite happy, too. (The idea that happiness belongs to a poltical party cracks me up, actually... Laughing )
But according to passin's poll, that's not the case.

So I was just curious what the poll said about those of us daring enough not to belong to a team. Wink

SteveC, I have no idea what you are talking about but I know one thing, if your remedy got lost on a hard drive, you've got troubles.
