With the release of these new " Katrina" tapes w/ Bush and Brownie.....we're back to asking...." just what did the Pres. know and when did he know it??/"
Is it just me or does this seem like a broke record with this group???

| Mike Brown is a disgrace, trying to skewer and blame everyone but himself. I don't even care if others were to blame. The guy is a real piece of work. If you are the HEAD of the FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY, its failure is your responsibility, regardless of the circumstances. He should focus on using whatever insights he has (if he has any) to improving our emergency management capabilities for next time.

and it's entirely possible he shouldn't have been appointed to the job because of lack of qualification.
However, it was ultimately up to him whether he took the job or not. If he was in over his head, he was the first one that would know it!

According to Brown, he did ask for help and got no assistance from his boss. They were all so busy trying to impress Bush that they ignored their responsibility to Americans. Today I saw a White House spokesman saying, "we didn't put enough supplies close to New Orleans." That's a flat out lie. There were tons of ice that melted in the trucks because it couldn't be delivered. That wasn't a lack of supplies, it was a lack of planning and mangement. They're still spinning while thousands of people on the Gulf Coast are still homeless.
Now Bush has appointed Julie Myers to run ICE. She's about as qualified as Michael Brown. But since she's loyal to Bush, who cares about qualifications?

Michelle Malkin has a great column on Julie Myers. When management skills are critical to DHS, for some reason the administration thinks it should be stuffed full of LAWYERS without intelligence, law enforcement, or security backgrounds and no experience running enormous federal agencies.
