I learned a Lot from my Dad
What NOT to do to be Like Him
The best advice I got from a friends Dad
Which Head to Think with and Lesson to...
To bad he didn't teach that to his Kids

An old wise man once told me that most folks want what they don't have and pay little mind to the things they do have.
It sure seems to be true

| My Grandmother was leaving Mo to catch a train to join Grandpa on the new homestead in Co. Her father's parting advice to this 16 year old bride was "Bert, (Birtie) you are going to a new and strange country. You'll need to rely on others, as you can't do it by yourself. Trust them that trust's the Lord, and don't trust nobody that don't trust nobody." When ever I talk with someone that brags they don't trust nobody, I reflect on G'mas advice. That was over a century ago, and it still hold water in my book.

| That brings to mind one that my mom would offer at times - "Love many, trust few, always paddle your own canoe".

| Grandpa used to say "with horses, kids and dogs you'll get out of them exactly what ya put in to em'". And "most horses just need wet saddleblankets"!

From a darn good old cowman... "The most money you will make is what you don't spend."
From an old Norweigian who was born raised and died here in the sticks.... "He who has must lose."

"Life is all about Relationships, Relationships, Relationships."
I read from God's point of view that is what is of ultimate importance to Him for us. Our relationship with Him and with others must come first, before ALL else, or life gets skewed way off balance.
