Two girls who graduated from high school together

My boys and their bucks

A pretty good rack

Three amigos

Tranquility

Evening shadows

Progress probes the plains

More progress

Sunset on a soft meadow

Towering over the treetops

Bramble of branches

A gaggle of geese giving it the gas

One last sunset shot

Snapshot of a salty situation

Nice looking bucks your son's got there, Soapweed. Iowa's shotgun deer season doesn't begin until the first of the month. Don't tell me those are wind turbines going up in the lush and beautiful Sand Hills Shocked

No, it is a cell tower that has been there for several years. The other picture is of highline poles that deliver our very necessary electricity. They have parallelled the highway since the 1950's. We use and depend upon, as well as appreciate, all of this "progress" that was portrayed. Wink

Thank God for progress or we wouldn't be able to enjoy each others pictures and stories.
The boys got some pretty nice bucks. By the time frame it doesn't seem that the new camp gear got worn out. Wink

Now. Leanin H. You can see the proper use of a tractor for hunting. Notice the grapple, used for entwining brush and grass for construction of a blind. Also the height attained by the loader, handy for looking over the next rise before sky-lining the whole rig, not to mention the redundancy of old fashioned tree stands.
Finally, note how harvested deer are used for decoys. Razz Razz Laughing Laughing

As always, great pictures and story, Thanks Soapweed.

whew, that's good to know. There's a big wind turbine whatever you want to call it on either side of I-80 between West Des Moines and Omaha, and you want to talk about sticking out like a sore thumb it's those turbines Shocked

FWIW, I'd just assume toss my cell phone in the river, but my better half makes me have one Rolling Eyes

Some pretty nice bucks. Deer season started here Oct. 19 and runs until Nov. 30. We have quite a few hunters here, usually with antelope and deer season we will have about 140-160 hunters come out here by the time the season is over.

I guess if your using the deer for decoys they look more alive hanging that way. In our area we usually hang them from the hind legs. Confused

Ain't that a wind turbine in the Tranquility picture. It's turbine up the water.

Good Bucks. Good boys.

So if Soapweed's boys use a motorized deivce to fill their tags its okey dokey? But if i show some pictures doing almost the same thing, let the beating begin? Say what? Sure does show a fella his place! Embarassed Sure i am clear out here on the desert and kinda new to the whole "ranchers pecking order". I realize that i am much, much, much younger and clearly not nearly as old.... i mean wise! But ya'll have hurt my feelings! Wink
Really nice bucks! Loved the sunset shots and the honkers! I gladly bow to your greatness! Very Happy And thanks to the rest of ya for your helpful Say what? ideas and comments! Very Happy Whatever would i do without ya? Laughing

I hope you realize that we were just teasing. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up. We knew you could take it. Smile
