Did anyone else notice this last night?? There just wasn't much energy/electricity there in the setting. And I'm no fashion expert, as my wife has told me many times, but Ms. McCains outfit reminded me of the tin man from the wizard of Oz. She is an attractive woman for her age imo.

And when McCain uplifted Obama lauding him for his accomplishments, you could have heard a pin drop. It was as if everyone was thinking is this the guy we chose?? Just my observations.

Love the green backdrop behind McBush and THEN when the panned out....there he was standing in front of what looked a mansion!!!!! What, one MORE house you don't remember????? LOVED THAT!!!! Someone in his gang kinda screwed him over on that deal!!!!

Where were all the people in the audience?? There was a crowd all bunched up towards the front....but the other bleachers and levels were pretty much deserted.

What I saw was like watching paint dry. All we heard was what a hero McBush was...not one thing about his plans for the future.

And....I thought McBush was against " change"....it was bad, we need ' experience' not change.
Say what? Say what?
And then every word out of his mouth last nite was the word " change"......what gives with that?

One of the best lines about "change" that I have heard so far is connected to the Repub and Palin camp -

"Obama, your change is in my diaper" . . . .

Were you watching the same speech I was-I saw a crowd filled with respect for somebody who has actually done something for his country-if it wasn't for men like John McCain there wouldn't be an America or a Canada for that matter for something like Obama to run for office in. I guess if you want another polished conman like Clinton vote for Obama-he is just wayyyy too smooth for my liking.

Every time I looked up there at the tv I saw BUSH III- and heard BUSH III...George told us many of the identical things- and then did the opposite...

There were many commenting on tv last night after the speech about how comical it was about McSame talking about changing D.C.-when he's been part of the problem and inner circle for 30 years and did nothing in all those 30 years...

Or how he wants to stop the special interests- when a good part of the audience was made up of the 160+ Lobbyists he has working for his campaign Shocked And seems to flout them....

He's been one of those right at the center of the problems in D.C for 30 years- and no matter what his gums are flapping- he has shown no indication he will change it.....Just another Bush...

“Obviously, they’re keeping the less popular Republicans out of the spotlight. President Bush gave a speech last night which couldn’t have been more than five minutes long. Dick Cheney is in Azerbaijan, which I think is the farthest possible point from Minneapolis on the globe, and they actually locked Senator Larry Craig in the convention center men’s room. Either that or he locked himself in, I’m not sure.” -Jimmy Kimmel

“I don’t want to say the Republicans are trying to distance themselves from President Bush, but did you see last night? Did you see when Bush was speaking by satellite they kept trying to change the channel?” -Jay Leno

“I gotta admit, she looked very comfortable at the podium ’cause it’s kinda like Alaska: you look out on that convention floor, nothing but white as far as the eye can see.” -Jay Leno

“I don’t know if you noticed this, but at the GOP convention, the cameramen are desperately trying to find minorities in the audience they could zoom in on, ’cause this is what they do. Finally, after an hour, they found one. It was a Presbyterian standing in a group of Methodists.” -Jay Leno

Delegates were captivated by Palin’s speech; at one point while she was speaking, the room got so quiet, you could hear Larry Craig’s toilet flush.” -David Letterman

Oh I am not doubting the respect they had or they most likely would not have been there. Its just that the atmosphere had ,little excitement little "electricity", something was lacking. It was almost as if the crowd had to be cued many times as to when to applaud.
