That reminds me of the story Dad used to tell about the old Basque sheepherder they came across one day that was sitting in his camp with sore spots all over his face and inside his mouth...He finally got the point across to the guys in broken English that he had a bad tooth and had been trying to burn the root using a wire heated in his cookfire and a mirror- but had missed causing the burns around his mouth...They helped him out and did the job for him- and they said he was grinning and plumb happy when they left Rolling Eyes

Stories of tough old guys aside, there are times when ignoring bad teeth can be dangerous. Better to be cautious than dead! Sure it costs money.....so does messing up your bite, but especially taking chances on serious infections. But it is darn hard to find good dentists.
