A couple of the sunset on Canada Day, there are a few fires in the area.

Moved a bunch about 3 miles through the timber to the upper area of our range

Sometimes they even stayed on the trail Smile It was hot and muggy today and the bugs were about as bad as I've seen them

Wonder why it takes a month to find them in the fall?

Destination attained, lower end of Hidden Valley. It's about 5 miles long and opens up a lot more than this. Too many mosquitos to explore today!

On the way home I went through our Upper Meadow, the hay is almost up to a cutter bar now!

First Nations Art Tools Very Happy

Ex-cutter ne Bush Whacker supreme, Freckles

Late lunch at 3:30 and then WE GOT A THUNDERSTORM

About 1 and a half inches in a half hour just what we needed for our oats.

Thanks for the tour of your part of the world. It is beautiful productive looking country. The cattle are carrying good flesh. There must be plenty of shade for these hot summer days. Don't let the mosquitoes carry you away. Wink

Thanks for the comments, July through September are the best months here.
BMR, my saddle was made by Mark Denny who owns Cariboo Saddlery in Williams Lake BC. He is an old chum of mine from back in grade school and is very good at his craft. This is the second saddle he has built for me and it fits a horse like a dream. It is built on a Bowman Roper tree with full 1/4 horse bars, my first one had semi 1/4 and would create saddle marks in a short time. Not so with this one. A few years back I was weaning calves with the same horse, he is pretty catty, when we were done the cinch was almost hanging and the saddle never moved.
I looked to see if he has a website but to no avail. He lives in town but in some ways he is more backwoods than me. Very Happy If you want you can PM me and I'll give you his ph #

What caught my eye was that the stirrup leathers are turned and wrapped. My Shimon saddle is like that and they sure hold a twist nice.If you can find a saddle that fit your horse and you take care of it..
Britt and I move and 300 pair from a rough couleed pasture into the breeding pasture today. I ponied along a 4 yr old I been round penning and when we got the cows moved i switched my saddle to her and rode her the 5 miles home. She did pretty good . Very Happy

I envy you your rain and your hay. Great pics. Your timber looks to be a little more cowboy friendly than ours, kinda parky. Although those dry pine snags can get hard on cowboy and horse. You don't want to ride just any horse in that stuff.
Your horse looks to be in pretty good shape, I'm guessing he earns his keep.

Weathergirl says it's your turn tomorrow Silver. But then a weather forecaster is the only person that can be wrong 100% of the time and still keep their job. Very Happy
