Finally-- good news....Got a call yesterday that some folks had seen Sam over in a pasture southwest of us- but because of the rain and storms I was not able to find him....
Then this morning I got a call from a neighbor lady (the cute little Canadian) that saw him from the Highway- but he would not come to her....We went up to that pasture- found him and he came a running and bailed in the door as soon as he saw me.... Smile

Doesn't look any worse for wear after his little 10 day galavant--was hunting right in the middle of a gopher town when we found him, so probably ate pretty good....

But seemed like an awful happy puppy to be home and not coyote food... Very Happy

That is the first name that I thought of also, but I am very biased as he is my cousin. Wink and a world champion.. Razz

Great news OT and just in time for Fathers Day, I am so glad you got your little guy back.
My border is hiding in the kitchen right now because somebody is shooting Rolling Eyes . I will be devastated if something happens to her but she is still a puppy ,11 years young and still my little girl Smile

Yep- and Grandma won out- and we have a new female pup coming (a red/white one) from Canada...I wanted to wait until I found a papered female (my male is papered)- but like Grandma rationalized- we want it for working cows, and most folks that have got pups from us want them for working cows, and most don't care a dang about papers, and don't want to pay an arm and leg for them- SO you know how to win an argument with a woman? Just say Yes Dear Wink Laughing Razz ......

Not sure who in Canada raised them (Alberta I think) - but our little Canadian neighbor gals Dad works for them- and she says they are from good working parents- fullblood- and he has raised some great cattle dogs-- SO I'll take the word of a Canadian Cutie... Say what?

She's going up Wed. and will bring her down to Grandma Thursday afternoon...She's getting one too....

Our neighbor arrived with the new puppy last night.. She is 6 weeks old- but the runt of the litter so kind of tiny...But as I told Grandma- I've had good success with the runts in horses, bulls and dogs....We named her Tess...

Last night we found her sleeping on Penney's old pillow...

This morning I came in and couldn't find her- than spotted her sleeping in the granddaughters chair...

Grandkids checking Tess out- and visa versa- and their seemed to be mutual approval Smile

Since Tess comes from Canada- I had the grandkids convinced they would have to learn how to speak Canadian so she could understand them.... Wink Laughing Razz Worked until Leinie remembered her trips to Canada and told me I was fibbing again..... Rolling Eyes Wink Laughing

Tess checking out a sleeping PJ

PJ showing her disapproval of puppy kiss's when she's trying to sleep.....

What a sweet puppy, OT. She is making herself right at home.
We usually try and pick the runt of the litter. Has worked almost all
of the time, too.

I'm happy things are on a better note at your place!!

This thing is such a runt- she's kind of hard to take out and around with you...Wouldn't even be a good meal for a hungry hawk or an owl-I told Grandma I'm afraid she'll fall in a gopher hole and I'll lose her Wink Laughing

Yesterday when the storm rolled in, I looked all over for her to get her in- she's so small she is hard to find...But she sure has caught on with everyone around here-Sam is still enough puppy that he'll let her play with him... She's definitely going to be my dog-as she'll come stand and whine up at me when I'm in my easy chair - until I pick her up and she can have her nap in my lap while I have mine -and right now as I set at the computer having my upteenth cup of coffee pondering where its dry enough I can do something without getting stuck- she's laying here with her head on my boot, her favorite sleeping position...
