A few years back I had some free time after gettin bucked off into a fence, and spent the time learnin these computer rigs. One of the things I learned is you don't have to pay to be protected!
If you want great FREE protection for your computer, check out the following. They are all free, work great, and will cover all bases when used together.
Avast antivirus, one of the best around, free or not.(AVG is good too)
Comodo firewall, easy to use and has a "learning"feature that customizes how it protects you.(zonealarm is pretty good too)
Spyware terminator,a must have these days with all the junk that can invade your computer.has a "real time shield" and an immunize function that blocks cr@p before it gets in.
Now if you want to go one step further, stop using Internet exploder as your web browser and install "Mozilla Firefox"It doesn't have all the security holes that IE does.Mozilla also offers an open source email client called Thunderbird.
these programs are all free and can be found with a simple Google search.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO KEEP YOUR VIRUS DEFINITIONS UP TO DATE.You can't beat todays bug with yesterdays spray...
if you are interested in any other programs for your computer and are budget minded then check out snapfiles.com.they offer freeware apps that can do darn near everything. ;)
