So,...
I read this whole thread from front to back this evening, and it's amazing to see the circles we're making. In a thread that asks if a movie is suitable for a 12-yr-old, we've had everything
from bashing gays
to bashing Christians
to bashing sheepherders
to bashing Christians who talk about gays
to bashing gays who flaunt it to Christians
to bashing men who wear hats and ride horses while looking at sheep.

It's getting a little tedious, actually.

'Seems many were missing the points that were being made. One example is called the "fallacy of the strawman" from philosophy. It happens when one sets up an argument and points at something that another says, when in fact nothing of the sort has been said. One sets up that argument consciously or subconciously to be able to win it.

That being said, I would by happy to discuss anything, anytime. But I won't be a part of ugliness, and I'm not going to be called judgemental just because I have a belief that is different from yours. Yes, I'm educated, but no, I'm not trying to educate anyone. I apologize if I came across that way.

I realize that "Christians" have been given a bad name because of the actions of some. I heard once that the Christian army is the only organization that finds it acceptable to shoot its own. Yes, there are some harmful things that are done and said by some legalists. But it's not being done and said by all of us. Again, just because I have a belief and take a stand - JUST LIKE YOU HAVE A BELIEF AND TAKE A STAND - doesn't make me a target for you either.

Thanks for your well-spoken words of wisdom. It would be cool if this thread would die a natural death. It has on several occasions already, but somebody always dregs it back up out of the mud. Rolling Eyes

Don't run away too far. We need your intellect and logic on Ranchers.Net. You are a valuable addition to the forums.

Thanks for singing "I want to be a cowboy's sweetheart" at the Bar Ninety-Nine last Sunday. You definitely haven't lost your touch. (Folks, she received more applause than did anyone else who performed all of that day.) Smile

Who said we wanted to decide the fate of a sinner? We can make general comments like Homosexuals will not inherit gods kingdom. But we can not say nonothing will not inherit gods kingdom. I have never heard anyone on here try to decide the fate of a specific person.

All we are doing is repeating what God says already. Have you never heard of Sodom and Gomorrah?

But I will not pass any judgement on a specific persons fate, who knows even the gayest of gay people might repent and change their ways before death, so who am I to say they are going to burn in hell?

I didn't mean I'm OUTTA HERE outta here, ...I'm just done with this thread.

It's too fun to see what everyone has to say to go away too far.

It was GREAT to see so many good friends again at the Bowring. And it's always an honor to sing with Brett and the boys. There sure is some good talent in them thar hills.

I'm glad I got to see you handle that famous mule too. Wink Very Happy

Not for twelve nor eighty year olds. I don't care about what folks do behind their doors, thats none of my business, but..... this is one of the worst movies bout' ranching I've ever seen!!! Those sheep would have died under those two morons care. Where was the dog during all of this 90 odd minutes of weepy self absorbed mess? " I cain't quit you" oh brother! who writes this junk. Wanna show your kid a some good pix? Go on ebay and order some Hoppalong cassidy dvd's with Gabby Hayes and Russell Hayden. Besides bein' a mucker and horsehand here in Maryland I was a projectionist in an old moviehouse here for 14 yrs, so I know a litlle bout' pictures. Take care, barontomcat aka mark.

I was unable to watch it personally Judith and I'm 57 and in no way homophobic.... Just found it made me very uncomfortable. I would think it should be off limits to anyone not an adult.
