In my ever so humble opinion "NO"!!!!!!!!!

I get oogied out when I see sex scenes and I'm 37!!!!!!!!( and in no way a prude) Can you imagine some poor 12 year old dealing with this sort of violent scene! I have never seen the movie, don't plan on it. That said, I have several gay friends who saw it and said the scene was really violent. Yikes what is going on with people today and why why why does everyone want our kids to be mini adults!!!! That is it I'm puttin my son back in diapers and the crib goes back into his room tonight

Uhm, I hven't seen the movie but the topic matter alone would probably make it one that I would not want my 12 year old seeing (Mind you, I don't have a 12 year old but....) It is kind of strange, my wife and I get into little arguments about things like this before we had kids. She was one who watched R movies when she was 5 years old while the first unedited R movie I saw was probably Rambo and after that I was probably 14 or so as my parents were a bit more strict about things (Oh god, the first sex scene in a movie I saw with my mom in the room I just about died.. Can't recall the movie but recall that it was pretty tame).. But to get back to the wife and I, now it is just the opposite, she is super protective of what the kids watch and I get glares for watching certain TV shows because of some content that she finds questionable... .. However, we both gasp when we see/hear what our neicees and nephews' favourite movies are

NO,it is not suitable,niether is 90% of the sitcoms out there. Children can't be children long before they're exposed to all this stuff,nice to see other mothers agree with me.

When my kids were young teens the big movie to see was Fried Green Tomatoes,nope,noway,nada were my kids watching that. I liked the movie but it was in no way a suitable topic for even young teens,I'm like you Judith not a prude but I don't think theres any good reason children need to be watching anything with violence or any sexual innuedo in the movie or T.V show.

I'm a firm believer in negativity breeding negativity,and any violence to me is a negative force that one does not need to be subject to.

Funny, when my kids were young teens, Fried Green Tomatoes was required reading in English class. Still one of my favorite movies.
I haven't seen the movie, but from what I've heard of it, I don't think Brokeback is suitable viewing for adults, let alone 12 year olds.

what fries my brain is the cartoon shows on tv. ADULT cartoons. family guy, american dad, or south park, all hit on topics that are borderline obscene, and kids are attracted to the "cartoon"..... really p***** me off.

lol.. I have to be very careful about family guy and Southpark since they seem to be on all the time... I have been known to watch them too but that is one show that my 5 year old nephew at the time was watching (South Park) and I was shocked.... Heck, he might have even been younger than that but I can't recall. IT was first season and he was watching it and that was a LONG time ago.... MY 4 year old sees 5 seconds of it and she is like "That's my show" or somehting like that and I flip the channel and give her somethinkg like Scooby doo to watch, which she likes better anyways.

You know there are a lot of gay folks in the world and if that is there thing well fine. I don't have to watch such movies though and i sure would not let my kids watch that sort of thing.

The biggest problem for me is that it is
A. A rated R movie
B. The teacher did not have permission from the parents
C. It was a violent scene not a true representation of "gay" sex.
D. Why show it in a classroom
My list can go all the way to Z.

My answer is "No" I would like to know the teachers reasoning to show
that movie. Do you think he/she thought it was a "Western"? Was it deliberate ,or just stupid?

I find most teachers are too liberal in their thinking.
But why wouldn't they be? They are taught in liberal colleges
by liberal professors...

Kids are going to Hear/See things I don't approve of in many ways and at many times. I can't protect them from that!

I can not, nor do I think I could/want-to protect the Kids from all Lifes wrongs but I would rather "See and Talk" them through things as they come-up.

Better me than some Teacher/Stranger/Friend/etc.

Unlike Miss Truth the truth never hurt anyone and I like to HELP them face it/Talk about it - and LEARN what may protect them so they don't have to live it.

Inter-Net Protects them "Least of All" - she has been Talking to "¿¿So Called Friends?? and disagreed with them and had them Turn-On-Her and call her every name/thing in the book when she was 13 years old by "Ag People"

i know that 15 is alot diferent from 12, but there are some kids out there who are mature enough to see it. ive havnt seen it, and i dont know if i really want to either. i know when im older and maybe have a kid or two ill view this topic diferently, but for now i think some people over rate this and i know that im gonna get alot of crap off that. but i dont think that anyone younger then 15 should prolly see it. and yes, southpark and others can get pretty nasty. but i rather see the humor in it then the discust.
