Any movie that glorifies a bunch of sodomites isn't suitable for anyone.

If you had watched the movie it is a love story not a gay porno.

However, it's not in my opinion suitable for children. And even having said the above it was an uncomfortable movie me at times to sit through. However, I'm glad I saw it as with most things it gave me some insight into the lifestyle.

Well, I never saw the movie and I don't intend to.

"Love Story" you say. Hummmmmmmmm
Folks I talked to said marriages broke up over
the situation.

That doesn't sound much like 'love' to me. FWIW

The reason "they" make movies about this sort of garbage is because people pay money to go see it. If potential viewers would "just say no" and not go, there would be no incentive for Hollywood to continue doing this nonsense. CattleArmy, you fell right into their trap and helped their cause, regardless of your "noble-in-you-own-mind" intentions. Sad

I saw the movie..waited till it was on HBO. I didn't make any comment until I saw it for myself. I'm not one to take other's word for something I've not seen myself.

I don' t think a 12 yr old should see it...but then again 12 yr olds today are the equal of what we were at 21!!!

It's not a porno, far from it...it is a love story but it does portray all the true facts and rough edges of a gay relationship that existed in that time frame in America.

It was an OK movie...not outstanding as far as content. But the scenery was great!

"The scenery was great"...now should I be bragging or not,but most of it was filmed in Alberta. I've not seen it,don't know if I ever will, not to impressed with the gay cowboy thing at all.Alot of harrasment came to cowboys because of that movie, the cowboy stands for something and this movie made a farce of that Confused IMHO

As I understand it, they wasn't even cowboys, but sheepherders. Not that there is anything wrong with being a sheepherder, but come on people, get the facts straight!

Oh, did I just say straight while talking about gays? Shocked

Wink

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I go along with soap on this one. There would be no movie of this sort if there wasn't an audience who was willing to pay to watch it. Mad

I agree with CRM.It was a story of love, not a porn and it took on the hurdles faced by those choosing that lifestyle during that time and place. To understand that it was a story of love shows the open mind of a person living in the year 2007

Is it something a child should see?it would probably bore them to sleep first off.Second unfortunately life comes at kids 100 miles an hour now.Parents either can look away at what really is out there or realize the fact that they cant stop things from leaking into their childs life and prepare them accordingly..

will watching this movie damage anyone,i doubt it,but it would be allot better to have judith answer any questions her son has rather then the kids in the school yard answering them.Jigs brings up a great point with modern day cartoons, other than hank hill how many of these night time cartoons are good for family viewing?

Rap music, video games, internet, other children on the school yard, and tv,will all at one point find your children. If you do not sit with, watch with or listen with your children and then talk about those things, where will you children get their education about social deviant behavior from???...If you wait to long in the year 2007 to explain to them about things like drugs, body destruction(tattoos and piercing),sex(of both hetro and homo),respecting others and authority figures, pain and life choices, some body else will tell them though many different avenues sooner than you think.

The part in this movie you might find the hardest to explain to your son is, why did they beat that man to death? In our eyes 12 year olds are still treated as young kids, what they know and call each other will surprise you...Judith you have a chance to sit and answer your son's questions now,my advice is to do that, before he gets his answers from someone else. The ability to teach a pure mind is so much better then to remold a tainted one...

Unfortunately, being a 12 year old is not like it was when many of you folks were that age.If you want your child to succed in these modern times, instill all the good you can in them, but prepare to open your mind. You can try and stop the year 2007 from finding your child and pretend it is still 1957,but your only doing your children a dis-service ,if you keep your blinders on of what is really out there and what they will want answers about.....JMO

I forgot about the beating scene....not that WAS bad!!

No one mentions that scene where that guy is beat to death on the side of the road with what looks like a tire iron.

It's a bloody gruesome scene....now that you mention it, it's a LOT more graphic that the ' sex' scene.

I REALLY can not believe you people even watched this garbage! VERY disappointing to hear.

Mad Mad

you actually put money in liberal hollywood's pocket with this mess and helped support the sodomite community. You ought to be proud of yourselves.

Of course, I guess, there could be some queer cowboys on this board. In today's day and age it's very possible. I shouldn't be suprised at all.
