Pokeing an animal in the ribs or rump , he won't always jump when he is still alive. If he is alive and you poke him in they eye he will blink. The blink reflex is one of the last things to go (Kind of like finding that near frozen calf, won't have a suckle reflex but will have a blink reflex even if you can't see the chest expand with breaths. If he doesn't blink, he is dead.

Nope, you don't have to share with dad, well unless he asks...LOL. Greg hasn't got his buck yet, seen a beauty whitetail on our homeplace yesterday, too close to dark to take a decent shot. Apparently every whitetail hunter in the countys heard about it because today there were tons of hunters around here. Normally the big huntings at the River but this year theres been a Huge moose and this BIG whitetail at our homeplace Confused Laughing

Ok...more teaching. An old deer, grind the meat make into sausage Laughing A nice young deer, good steaks, roasts etc. I sure hope your not making that whole buck into jerky, because young man you will get enough jerky to last you the rest of your life Laughing
