Great one TTB, that bull looks like he is saying what the He77 is coming next. I never put one in, even the really good ones do not show the devastation, the heart break and the loss, that bull tells it like it is. I am going to scan a picture of a fire a few years ago, 75,000 acres, when they start making their own lightning, wind and their own weather conditions that are not in our best interest.

Here are the storm clouds created by the fires. Pretty scary stuff out here Crying or Very sad

I thought I could change the size of the pic but NOT. I know if the pic was larger it would have made a larger impact.

Oh, well.......

The whole problem with this whole thread is what do you put on? I have wildfire pictures that most won't believe, cause that is a price for living here. It is not when but how big is the fire(s) going to be. You do what you have to do and you git er done. I wish that I had a picture of me and my Marine after building fire line all night long with our dozer and him holding a spotlight so we could see, after the fire bosses went home. In the morning after daylight so OSHA says they can work, I had a guy from DNRC come up to me and shake my hand and say "I have to meet the man that can build a fire line like that in the dark, thank you for helping us, I realize you live out here and you are protecting your own." About 15 minutes later, I got my ass chewed from the main fire boss because I did not go throught a fence and tear it down, I went through the gate(funny thing for a rancher) and I could have went through the fence and cut off 20 acres inside the fire line. Fire is not something I take lightly, I guess the some people do so on this forum

Oh, BTW TTB, congrats on your picture. You captured a very bleak moment, and people who work on fires for a living don't understand that "we'll let 'er burn out inside the fireline" when all that fuel inside the fireline was supposed to be winter pasture Exclamation Question Question Exclamation

You're pic expresses that perfectly Exclamation

Thanks everyone for the nice complements! As I said in the poll post, I thought there were a lot of great pics. I was really hoping Montana Cowgurl would enter her photos of some of the fires they had. I have a couple of pics that actually show fire (as in flames) but thought this one was better. Funny thing is that this bull didn't have to lay in the burnt, black ground, as some of the pasture around him wasn't burnt, but chose to. Earlier in the day this was taken, there were about 50 black angus cows laying with him. It was about 110 degrees when I took this picture.

Again, thanks, and great pics everyone!

Cheers---

TTB Wink
